Serving the Needy at Christmastime

On December 14th, the junior and senior classes at Chestertown Christian Academy helped prepare over 500 food boxes for the Kent County Christmas Basket committee. This was a service project for the students involved in Mrs. Harrison’s Leadership Development course. Members from the local Lion’s Clubs helped to organize the event while volunteers from all over the county participated.

The students arrived at 9:00 am at the Worton Parks and Recreation Center ready to help. After helping to fill all the boxes, the boxes were then carried to trucks and trailers to be distributed to those in need in Kent County. On their drive back to CCA’s campus, one student said, “This was more fun than I thought it would be. I am happy we were able to help with this project”.

Each marking period, the Leadership Development class is selecting one project to help benefit our community.
